At Elixir we use a medical dermal roller to improve skin texture caused by sun damage, the ageing process, Acne scars and Stretch Marks. The device creates hundred of micro channels in the skin which encourages the formation of new healthy collagen to fill the defect created by scars and wrinkles. The technique also increases blood supply to the affected area, promoting the skin’s natural healing process. In addition the technique permits deeper infusion of Hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, peptides, which increases the product effectiveness. How does the Dermal Roller work?
The roller stimulates new collagen production in your skin. The needle breaks the skin, penetrating the dermis causing micro-trauma and micro-inflammation. Your body responds by sending blood to the area for healing. As your skin repairs itself, new collagen builds up just below the surface. Over time wrinkles, lines, or depressed scars fill from the bottom up. Repeated needling sessions gradually and continually build new collagen to fill in the treated areas. Is it safe?
Yes. Unlike lasers micro needling does not traumatise the surface layer of the skin. Because the epidermis is untouched there is less risk of skin darkening or lightening after treatment.
