Darker skin types have more melanin (skin pigment ), so one has to be extra careful when using cosmetic treatments involving Lasers, light or heat. These treatments may result in burning or skin discolouration (darker or pale marks) which may be permanent.

Pigmentation is of particular concern in people of colour. Conditions range from Melasma (Chloasma) to darkness following a period of inflammation (ie due to Acne). We have a variety or treatments to help reduce the appearance of pigmentation.

Keloid scarring and shaving bumps also tend to affect African-caribbean people more than others.
